One of the best parts, for me, about this exegesis series is that I write them 2 or 3 weeks before I post them. This means I am detatched from the content before I post it making me not nearly as emotionally attached to my works as I might have been if I posted them immediately. The second best thing about these writings is that they only take me 15 minutes, and suck accordingly. Anyway, here’s Matthew 10:32,33.

So many prayers, so much faith, such devotion…
They’re all believers in Boston right now…
Bottom of the 11th. Not an athiest left in all of Beantown.
This is the most painful ball game I’ve seen in years. All these poor little kids, up wayyyyy past their bedtimes on a school night, praying so fervently… it’s just heartbreaking.
Bottom of the 12th. 4 to 4. 40 degrees. Manny’s on.
This ties for the longest ALCS game ever.
Five hours, two minutes. Longest ALCS game ever. Ortiz wins it with a homer. That was some greeeeaat baseball!!
Just makes what’s going to happen tonight that much more tragic, but let them revel…
So with Game 5 just 15 hours from now, I just want to know … if they win tonight (as if) will the books show the Sox beating the Yanks twice in one day?
First, my complaints: a) The page now opens to the peachy-orange design which is fine, and coordiates nicely with your attractive Bucknell tank, but it’s necessary to fully maximize the page in order to even see you in the picture, but maybe that’s just me. b) there’s no comment links on this page; and c) tomorrow is my birthday and everything sucks right now.
Okay, back to DENIAL…
I’ve been meaning to get to this:
“A theologian will claim that one who falls away (perhaps by denying the Christ) never had salvation in the first place and therefore didn’t lose it. I wonder who that person thinks he is to judge the heart of the backslid man. I refuse to categorize one as saved or unsaved; it is God’s job alone….”
I like that. But are you saying this only in the context of Christians, or others as well? Because I thought Christians are supposed to go around sharing the word and getting people saved. So in order to do that, you’d have to know if someone was or wasn’t already right?
“Furthermore, to delude yourself into thinking that you are such a good person that you can never be a bad person again is both prideful and evasive.”
I’m lost here on a couple points. First, what do you mean by evasive? Also, I can see how this would relate to conduct. But if faith is the key to salvation, rather than right living, then how can anyone tell whether a) they’ve lost faith badly enough to be in jeopardy; or b) their loss of faith is permanent?
