My letter to Superfresh’s customer support address:
SuperFresher,
First off, I am a loyal SuperFresh customer. I live in a land of suburban sprawl with dozens of grocery store options. I continue to drive 20 minutes out of my way to go to the SuperFresh in Ellicott City, MD, as I have since I moved into the area 4 years ago. I have no complaints. Sure, prices have steadily risen (I’m on to you!), but this is part of capitalism and I’m still coming back so more power to you.
I am disappointed that you have stopped carrying Sabretts brand hot dogs this summer. I’m originally from New York, and as a result, I have an appreciation for good hot dogs. Sabretts and Boars Head hot dogs are the top of the line, by my estimation. SuperFresh used to be my source of Sabretts hot dogs – everyone counted on me to show up to BBQs with them because even native Marylanders (if you can find anyone from Maryland that’s not a transplant) know a good hot dog when they taste one. As it stands, I’m relegated to Hebrew National, which is a distant third in the hot dog pecking order. Don’t even get me started on the tightly packed bologna that Ballpark makes. I’d rather eat a chunk of raw pastrami.
I hereby humbly request the return of Sabretts hot dogs to the Ellicott City, MD SuperFresh on N. Ridge Rd. I will continue my efforts to market these delicious miscellaneous salted pig extracts in Maryland.
As I think of it, if you have a choice between the real Sabretts and the 5 inch version, go with the long ones. Trust me, nobody eats hot dogs for the sake of enjoying all that extra bun.
Thanks,
Eric Furst
I got a prompt reply from a real live person who actually researched my SuperFresh’s stock, then called their buying office.
You should have told them about the Sabrett’s / Hebrew National Taste contest we held last summer….
You really are one-of-a-kind, Eric Furst.
