I’m vaguely environmentalist, I really am. I like it when conservation happens, I recycle consistently (and have been for 15 years), I like the idea of renewable energy and think that coal and oil people are short sighted.
That said, this sort of data is why I don’t much buy into the global warming hype.
Addendum
Some photos from DC this weekend – it was windy, which led to some intentionally blurry blossoms.
Do you bring your own bags to the grocery store?
In the 2nd chart, there is an incorrect, duplicate, axis for CO2. I’m interested in how they measured it. Plus I like units. I bet it was supposed to be in billions of kilograms.
I don’t buy in the global warming hype either, but I think the only way people will be come less wasteful is if it is over-hyped, so I go along with it mostly. Plus how else are we going to get the everyman to embrace nuclear power?
Were you at the Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday?? Wendell and I were there too. Too bad we didn’t bump into each other amongst the thousands of people who were there! I got some neat pics of the moon amongst the blossoms.
I don’t but that’s what I want for my birthday.
I like clean air as much as the next guy. For whatever it’s worth, I don’t think anyone does unbiased research (for either side) in the field of climate change.
I was there Friday evening.
Anyone who’s ever met your parents would conclude that you turned out at least mildly environmentally-minded.
I don’t understand why people need the big/doomsday Global Warming Hype to get on board with picking up after themselves and refraining from being wasteful gluttons. I mean, why would you knowingly sh*t where you eat if you didn’t have to? It just makes no sense to me.
i like the blurry blossoms a lot.
Cool pictures. Hit me up sometime if you’re in DC; we can grab a drink.
